Reflections For Week 6 by Kelvin Ong , 2G , ( 29)
This week, I was not able to catch up with my fellow teammates as I was on medical leave for a few days. Then, Ms Sim told us that we will be required to come up with at least 10 questions for a survey, conduct it , collect and tabulate the results. Of course, this survey will be on our project topic, F1 in Schools. Then, we gather our group to discuss on the questions of the survey. Not much time is left for us after Ms Sim briefed us. However, we are close to completing the survey questions and hopefully be able to upload on to our group's blog by tomorrow.

Reflections For Week 6 by Shawn Wong , 2G , ( 31 )
For this week , We brainstormed on the questions for the survey and we had successfully came up with 10 questions . This time , we had enough time to think and we completed the task for this week . Looking forward to the next lesson . Haha
Thanks .
Thanks .
Reflections For Week 5 by Shawn Wong , 2G , ( 31 )
For this week , we went through the different tasks that each member had to do / research . And i was given the task of researching on existing car body designs . However time caught up with us again . And we had little time too discuss but we had covered the main points .
Thanks

Reflections For Week 4 by Shawn Wong , 2G , ( 31 )
For this lesson , I found out that our group actually did not complete the previous worksheets . Therefore , we rushed through the worksheets HOWEVER , we did not have enough time to complete it . But we had our meetings and thankfully , we completed it .
For the lesson , I was supposed to research on existing F1 car body designs and through the WEB , I have found out some interesting designs and for our car body , we must make it streamlined and the patterns should be also streamlined in a way that it is flowing with the designs .
One example was :
Source : http://www.automobilsport.com/uploads/_neustart/april-20-2009/f1schoolswkr0005.jpg
The blue pattern on top as shown is streamlined with the car body itself and that is what we are aiming for , for top speed .
Thats all for the reflections and I am looking forward for the next lesson .
Thanks

Reflections for week 4, by Glen Tan , 2G , (33)
Once again , we were too caught up with other school activities most of which includes schoolwork that apparently , we have failed to catch up with regular updates on the grace blog and hence even not completing the task assignment which have been released two weeks ago . Well as far as words may go , I am the only supposed member whom is partaking in the special workshop that has relations in co-ordinance to the IPW as well . My service to the group is to research on car body models as well as existing designs . Hopefully we would have a more productive IPW session next week .

Reflections for Week 4 by Kelvin Ong, 2G, (29)
This week, our group is slightly off track as we did not managed to complete the project planner A and B and the worksheet for this week due to time constrain. Therefore, I still think that the IPW period for each week should be extended to 1 hour per week. Only then we are able to have more time to do our work, learn the stages on how to do our project, and have group discussion. We will still strive and work hard to get back on track.
Through self-reading and research on the internet, I have understand the concept of Aerodynamics. Aerodynamics refers to the study of the interactions between the air and the object that is moving through it.
As in our primary school syllabus, we have learned in science that fishes and other aquatic animals often have streamlined body shapes in-order to move fast in water. Therefore, it crossed my mind what if I replace the streamlined fishes with a F1 racing car and replace the water with air. Is the theory the same?
After going to the internet to research, and some serious thinking, I think that the theory might be the same or at least similar as the property of water and the property of air is the same (both air and water does not have a fixed shape and they flows) However there must be more research and study to prove it correct.
So, in order for me to find out the correct answer, I will consult my physics teacher, Ms Sharon Tan, to prove the above statement right or wrong. I can also go to the library to look up on books on water resistance and air resistance.
Thanks,
Kelvin

Reflections for week 3 , by Glen Tan , 2G , (33)
Slightly more productive then the previous week since we managed to agree on certain aspects of the tasks assigned to us by the IPW project . We learnt about a course that can expand our width of knowledge upon type d and r prototype car bodies while enabling us to have a greater source of reference and information that we may tap on .

Reflections For Week 3 by Shawn Wong , 2G , ( 31 )
Okay so the reflections for .. Week 3 !
Ok , Basically , we just went through the worksheet for week 3 . And , we chose our topic , and discussed about our group motto AND name which is " We Dominate The Race Track " and " MSHS F1 Rangers " respectively . I hope we can have 2 IPW period instead of 1 period as we have alot of things to go through like worksheets and discuss group matters cause we dont really have much time for meeting up , hence the extension . but its only a suggestion :)
Ok thanks

Reflections for week 2 , Glen Anthony , 33 2G
Not really much acquired in terms of information . Basically spent the time brushing up on things to do that we lacked out . We had some minor briefing and group discussion . Still trying to sort out some basic task . Overall , pretty average with some progress .

With the launch of the IPW project , I now have a more in-depth understanding pertaining to the matter of GRACE . I am sincerely glad to be able to collaborate with Kelvin , a reliable and responsible student whom takes great pride in his doings . I have great hopes that this project will be able to sharpen and refine our skills in research work . I would appreciate that if more time could be provided per week to share insights and to involve ourselves more regularly in Grace .
We have so far achieved the minimum required tasks that has been imposed except for the group motto .

Reflections For Week 3 by Kelvin Ong , 2G , ( 29 )
Today, our group went to attend the IPW lesson as usual. Ms Sim told us that the agenda for today's lesson is to discuss about what are we going to research for the F1 in Schools project as well as completing the worksheet for this week.
She also told us that there will be a F1 in Schools Experience workshop that we have to attend. The workshop will be teaching us on the science behind the design of the racing car, manufacturing process of the car and the Wind Tunnel as well as how can we use this piece of equipment to help us to determine if the design of our car allows it to be able to travel at high speed.
The facts that we know about this project is that the design, the shape and the size of the car affects the amount of air resistance experienced by the car which in turn affects the overall speed of the car.
I think that we can design a car that is not very tall in height. We can also shape the front part of the car into a pointed tip. This is to reduce the air resistance so that the racing car will be able to travel fast.
I would like to find out what is actually aerodynamics, what is the Wind Tunnel, how do we use it and what is the drag of the car as well as how do we calculate it based on the Wind Tunnel test results. Therefore, in order to find out the answers to my questions, I may consult my physics teacher, go to the library to look for books related to my project topic or use the internet to find the answers.
Basically everything progress as we expected and I look foward to the next IPW LESSON
Thanks,
Kelvin

Good Work
This is the second group in Sec 2G that has shown good work in:
1) Providing your assignment
2) Individual reflections
Keep up with the good work and share your experience with your classmates.

Reflections For Week 2 by Kelvin Ong , 2G , ( 29 )
This week, we went to the DnT workshop to attend the second lesson on our GRACE project work. Our teacher in charge, Ms Sim, brief us on what we are suppose to do during the lesson and what tasks we have to do during the weekends. She tell us that our Grace project is on the F1 in Schools competition. Then, Ms Sim tells us on the rules and regulations as well as what we need to do for the project.
After that we proceed to complete the cover page and the worksheet 1 of the Grace Project. We also managed to find some time to decide on the various positions of the group.
Basically everything went on smoothly. However I felt that a period per week for the GRACE lesson is too short. Maybe, we can have two periods per week. then we have more time to do our work.
Thanks,
Kelvin

Reflections :
This lesson , We chose our positions and I was chosen to be the group leader . However , We have not come out on a group name yet . It should be decided in Week 3 . The cover page for group report file and the topic for our group should also be done in Week 3 .
Thanks,
Shawn
